Introduction

The US military changed how it lists the religions of its workers. This caused a small fight about one church.

Main Body

Secretary Pete Hegseth wanted to make a shorter list. He changed 200 religious groups into 31 groups. He wanted to make the data easier to read.

At first, the list did not call the LDS Church 'Christian'. Other churches had that word. Some leaders from Utah were angry. They said the government should not decide this.

Some people think the military wants more Christian influence. Other people disagree about which groups are truly Christian. This is an old argument.

On Monday, the military fixed the list. Now, no church has the word 'Christian' before its name. Soldiers can still write their own faith on their ID tags.

Conclusion

The military stopped the fight by changing the list. But some people still disagree about religion.
