⚡ The 'Action' Word Trick

In this text, we see words that tell us something happened in the past. This is the key to A2 English: Moving from 'Now' to 'Before'.

How it works: Most of the time, you just add -ed to the end of the word.

  • pick \rightarrow picked (Wait! 'Pick' is tricky, but 'picked' is the past)
  • win \rightarrow won (This one changes completely!)
  • break \rightarrow broke (Another change!)

Spot the pattern in the news:

  • "Texas... won their games."
  • "A student... broke a record."

💡 Quick Rule: If you want to talk about yesterday, look for the -ed or the special 'changed' words like won and broke.
