Introduction

The UK, the USA, and Mauritius all want control of the Chagos Islands.

Main Body

The UK government wants to give the islands to Mauritius. The UK wants to keep a military base on the island of Diego Garcia. Some people are worried. They think China might take control of the area.

Donald Trump thought about buying the islands. He wanted the USA to have total control. Now, the USA is not trying to buy them.
