The government of Maharashtra wants to build new houses and roads in Dharavi and Umerkhadi.

The government and Adani Group are changing Dharavi. They want to build a modern city. They will build 10,000 new homes by March 2028. They will keep the small shops and pottery workers.

In Umerkhadi, the government wants to destroy 81 old buildings. They will build seven very tall towers. These towers have 40 to 81 floors. More than 2,000 people will get new homes here.
