Thailand Gives Jobs to Refugees from Myanmar

Introduction

The Thai government now lets refugees from Myanmar work legally. The United Nations says this is a good example for other countries.

Main Body

Thailand needs more workers. Also, other countries give less money to help refugees. Now, 80,000 people from Myanmar can have legal jobs in nine camps.

These workers get special ID cards. With these cards, they can open bank accounts and buy phones. The government and companies make sure they get fair pay and doctors.

Some problems still exist. Refugees cannot travel freely. They are also used to getting free help. But the UN thinks Malaysia and Bangladesh can do the same thing.

Conclusion

Many refugees now have real jobs. Thailand thinks 10,000 to 20,000 more people will get jobs next year.
