⏱️ The "Past vs. Present" Switch

In this story, the writer moves between what happened (Past) and what is happening now (Present). To reach A2, you must see this difference.

1. The Past (Finished actions) Look at these words: died, disappeared, found, arrested, hurt, did not stop. → These all describe a completed timeline. → Pattern: Action + -ed (usually) or a special change (e.g., findfound).

2. The Present (Current situation) Look at these words: are angry, are protesting, want, says, is looking. → These describe the situation right now.

🛠️ Building a Sentence: The "Want" Pattern

Notice how the text uses Want + Person + To + Action:

  • "They want the Justice Minister to leave his job."
  • "They also want to put bad people in prison."

Simple Rule: If you want someone else to do something \text{→} Want + Person + To + Verb.

💡 Quick Vocabulary Bridge

  • Silo \text{→} A big tower for grain.
  • Suing \text{→} Taking someone to court for money/justice.
  • Responsibility \text{→} When you are the one to blame or fix a problem.
