🚨 Talking about the Past

In this story, we see how to say things that already happened. Look at these changes:

Now \rightarrow Then

  • Happen \rightarrow Happened
  • Break \rightarrow Broke
  • Explode \rightarrow Exploded
  • Fall \rightarrow Fell

💡 Pro Tip for A2: Most words just need -ed at the end (like happened). But some words are "rebels" and change completely (like break becoming broke).

📍 Where things happen

We use the word "at" for a specific point or place of work:

  • at a factory\text{at a factory}
  • at a shop\text{at a shop}
  • at a building\text{at a building}

👥 People and Numbers

When we talk about a group of people who were affected, we use these simple patterns:

  • Eight people died.
  • Six people were hurt.

(Number \rightarrow Person \rightarrow Action)
