🕒 The 'Past' Secret

To move to A2, you must notice how we talk about things that are finished. Look at these words from the text:

  • had \rightarrow (now: have)
  • played \rightarrow (now: play)
  • scored \rightarrow (now: score)
  • were \rightarrow (now: are)

The Pattern: Most of the time, you just add -ed to the end of the action word.

Play \rightarrow Played Score \rightarrow Scored

The 'Rule Breakers': Some words change completely. You must memorize these:

  • Have becomes Had
  • Are becomes Were

❌ Saying 'No' in the Past

When we want to say something did NOT happen, we use a special helper word:

did not + action word (normal form)

Example from text: "Rodri and Mateo Kovacic did not play much."

(Notice: We say did not play, NOT did not played.)
