Pope Leo XIV visited Spain for one week. He went to the Canary Islands to help migrants.

The Pope visited a port in Gran Canaria. Many migrants lived there in bad conditions in 2020. The Pope put flowers in the sea for the people who died. He said that leaders must care about migrants.

Many people die in the ocean. Last year, almost 1,200 people died. This year, more than 1,300 people died from January to May. Now, fewer people arrive because police stop the boats.

The Pope asked all countries to work together. He wants all migrants to have a safe and kind life.
