Main Body

Section 702 let the government read messages from people outside the US. Some leaders wanted new rules. They wanted the government to get a paper from a judge first. This protects the privacy of US citizens.

Some leaders were angry about Bill Pulte. He was a leader in intelligence. Democrats said he did not have the right experience. Because of this, the House of Representatives did not vote for the law.

Some people are worried. They say the President needs this information to keep the country safe. Other people say it is okay. They say a court already gave permission to spy until March 2027. The government also has other ways to get information.

Conclusion

The government can still spy for now. But the law is still gone because the House of Representatives is on holiday.
