🕰️ THE "PAST" PATTERN

In this story, everything already happened. To tell a story in English, we often add -ed to the end of the action word.

Look at these changes:

  • want → wanted
  • use → used

Wait! Some words are 'rebels' and change completely:

  • send → sent
  • get → got
  • say → said

💡 QUICK TIP: "WANT TO"

When the person has a goal, we use want + to + action.

  • Example: "He wanted to start a fight."
  • Example: "He wanted to use the crisis."

Use this simple formula to talk about your own goals: I want to \rightarrow [your action here].
