In this text, we see a very useful word for A2 learners: Want.
It is used to show a goal or a desire. Look at how it changes based on the person:
- He wants Coach McVay wants the players to stay healthy.
- He wants Justin Jefferson wants a quarterback...
- They want Kyler and J.J. want the main job.
💡 Simple Rule: When talking about one person (He/She), add an -s. When talking about many people (They), keep it as want.
🚫 Saying "NO"
To make a sentence negative, we use does not or do not before the action.
- He wants He does not want
- They work They do not work
Quick Tip: Once you use "does not," the "s" on the main verb disappears! (Wrong: He does not wants Right: He does not want)
