🕒 The 'Past' Pattern

In this story, almost everything happened yesterday. To tell a story in English, we often add -ed to the action word.

Look at these changes:

  • wait → waited
  • search → searched
  • cancel → cancelled

The 'Rule Breakers' (Irregular): Some words change completely. You just have to memorize them!

  • go → went
  • take → took
  • tell → told
  • leave → left

Quick Tip: If you see -ed, the action is finished. If you see went or took, it is also finished, but the word is just 'special'.
