Introduction

The Texas Republican Party had a big meeting in Houston. They talked about their plans for the next elections.

In this story, we see a lot of things happening in the past. To reach A2, you need to know how to describe things that already happened.

The Pattern: Regular -ED verbs Most words that describe a finished action end in -ed.

  • Talk → Talked
  • Argue → Argued*
  • Laugh → Laughed*
  • End → Ended

The Pattern: The "No" action (Negative) When someone did not do something in the past, we use did not + the basic word.

  • They did not agree. (NOT: They did not agreed)

Quick Comparison

  • Positive: The meeting ended. ✅
  • Negative: They did not agree. ✅

Note: 'Peed' is also a regular -ed word!
