🚩 The 'Past' Connection

In this story, everything already happened. To talk about the past in English, we often just add -ed to the action word.

Look at these changes:

  • Start \rightarrow Started*
  • Burn \rightarrow Burned*
  • Destroy \rightarrow Destroyed*

Wait! Some words are rebels and change completely. They don't use -ed.

The Rebels:

  • Come \rightarrow Came*
  • Take \rightarrow Took*

📦 Number Words (Counting Stuff)

When we talk about a lot of things, we put the number first:

  • 4,000 voting machines (A huge amount!)
  • Ten fire trucks (A small group)
  • Eighth/Ninth floors (This tells us the position, not the amount)

💡 Quick Tip for A2

If you see -ed at the end of a word, it usually means the action is finished. You are looking at a memory or a report, not something happening right now.
