The 'Past' Tool 🛠️

In this story, we see a lot of things that already happened. To move to A2, you need to know how to change a word to the past.

1. The Regular Pattern (Add -ed) Most words just need a tail.

  • stop → stopped
  • finish → finished
  • happen → happened

2. The Rule-Breakers (Change completely) Some words are 'rebels' and change their whole shape. You must memorize these:

  • win → won
  • become → became
  • do → did

3. Saying 'No' in the Past To say something didn't happen, use did not + the normal word. Don't add -ed here!

  • Wrong: He did not won.
  • Right: He did not win.

Quick Tip: Notice how 'broke' is the past of 'break'. It's a rebel word! 🏁
