🕒 Talking about the Past

In this story, everything happened yesterday. To tell a story about the past, we often add -ed to the end of the action word.

Look at the changes:

  • Crash \rightarrow Crashed
  • Try \rightarrow Tried
  • Close \rightarrow Closed
  • Arrive \rightarrow Arrived

⚠️ The 'Rule Breakers'

Some words are special. They do not use -ed. You must memorize these ' rebels':

  • Leave becomes \rightarrow Left
  • Hit stays \rightarrow Hit
  • Catch becomes \rightarrow Caught
  • Do becomes \rightarrow Did (or do not \rightarrow did not)

💡 Quick Tip: Negative Past

To say something didn't happen, use: did not + normal word.
