Pfizer did not send the medicine. The doctors and the company had a problem with the paperwork. The medicine did not arrive by April 7. The woman had her baby before the medicine arrived.

Pfizer 並未寄出藥物。醫生與公司在文書處理上出現問題。藥物在 4 月 7 日前仍未送達。該名婦女在藥物抵達之前就生產了。

Other health leaders asked Pfizer to keep extra medicine in different states. Pfizer did not do this. They kept all the medicine in one place. This made it hard for doctors to get the medicine fast.

🕒 THE 'NOT' PATTERN

In this story, we see a lot of things that did not happen. This is how we talk about the past when something was missing or failed.

How it works: Did not + Action Word (Base Form)

Examples from the text:

  • Did not get \rightarrow She wanted the medicine, but she had nothing.
  • Did not send \rightarrow Pfizer kept the medicine; they didn't move it.
  • Did not arrive \rightarrow The delivery never came.
  • Did not do \rightarrow They ignored the request.

⚠️ Important Rule: When we use did not, the action word stays simple.

Did not gotDid not get

📦 'ONE' vs 'DIFFERENT'

Notice how the story describes locations:

  1. Different states \rightarrow Many places (Arizona, Texas, New York, etc.).
  2. One place \rightarrow Only a single location.

Why this matters: If you have things in different places, it is often easier to find one nearby. If everything is in one place, it takes longer to arrive.
