⚡ Action Words: Now vs. Then
In this story, we see two ways to talk about things happening. One is for right now (facts/feelings) and one is for the past (finished actions).
1. The 'Right Now' Style (Present)
- They do not like... (Current feeling)
- They think... (Current opinion)
2. The 'Finished' Style (Past) Look at how the words change to show the action is over. Most of them just add -ed:
- protest protested
- organize organized
- burn burned
⚠️ Watch out! Some words are rebels and change completely:
- fight fought
- break broke
- come came
- send sent
Quick Tip for A2: If you are telling a story about yesterday, look for that -ed or use the 'rebel' list above. If you are talking about your favorite food, keep it simple like "I like..."
