In this story, we see words that tell us things already happened. To reach A2, you need to know how to change a word to show the 'past'.
The 'ED' Rule Most words just need -ed at the end:
- Play → Played
- Want → Wanted
The Rule-Breakers Some words change completely. You must memorize these:
- Win → Won
- Make → Made
- Be → Was/Were
🚫 Saying 'No' in the Past
If you want to say something did not happen, use this simple pattern:
Did not + (Normal Word)
- Wrong: I did not won.
- Right: I did not win.
Look at the text: "The Florida Panthers did not play."
Notice that when we use "did not", the word "play" stays in its normal form. It does not need "-ed"!
