🏒 The 'Change' Pattern
In this text, we see how to describe things moving or switching. This is key for A2 level communication.
1. Simple Swaps (The verb 'Trade') When two teams swap players, we use trade.
- Example: Toronto traded players with Philadelphia.
- Meaning: Toronto gave a player → Philadelphia gave a player.
2. New Things (The verb 'Get') When you receive something new, use get/got.
- Now: They are getting ready.
- Past: San Jose got a new defenseman.
3. The 'Want' Rule To talk about a wish or a plan, use want + to + action.
- Pattern: Player wants to leave.
- Note: We don't say "wants leave." We always add to before the action.
