🧩 The "Action" Words

Look at these words from the text. They tell us what happened:

  • Gave (Past of give) → MLB gave warnings.
  • Changed (Past of change) → The players changed their hats.
  • Wrote (Past of write) → Three players wrote words.

Wait! Why do they look different? Some end in -ed (changed), but others are "special" (gave, wrote). In English, we use these to talk about things that are finished.

💡 Simple Opposites

In this story, we see two groups of people:

  1. Agree (Yes/OK) \leftrightarrow Disagree (No/Not OK)

If you add dis- to the front of a word, it often makes it the opposite.

  • Example: "Some people disagree." (They say no).

🚩 The "Rule" Words

When talking about a job or a sport, we use these words to describe limits:

  • Warning: A message saying "Stop it, or you will be in trouble."
  • Uniform: The same clothes everyone must wear.
  • Unfair: When a rule is not the same for everyone.
