🏀 Talking about Abilities

When we describe people, we use Adjectives (describing words). Look at how the text describes the players:

  • Fast \rightarrow Wilson is very fast.
  • Strong \rightarrow Wilson is very strong.
  • Good \rightarrow Peterson is a good shooter.

💡 The "Very" Power-Up

To make a description stronger, just put very before the word. It's a simple way to sound more natural in A2 English.

Normal: He is fast. Stronger: He is very\underline{very} fast.

🕒 Past vs. Present

Notice the difference in the verbs (action words):

Now (Present):

  • Dybantsa scores points.
  • The Bulls want to meet him.

Before (Past):

  • Flagg joined the Mavericks.
  • He played very well.

\rightarrow Tip: Adding -ed to the end of a word usually tells us it happened in the past.
