Vocabulary Learning
The 'Past Event' Pattern
To talk about things that already happened, we change the action word (verb). Look at these words from the story:
- Happen Happened
- Die Died
- Run Ran
- Burn Burned
- Have Had
The Simple Rule: Most words just need a -ed at the end to move to the past.
The 'Trick' Words: Some words are rebels. They change completely. Example: You don't say "runned," you say ran. You don't say "haved," you say had.
Quick Vocabulary List for A2:
- Stolen: Something that was taken by a thief.
- Protests: When people gather to show they are angry.
- Chased: To run after someone to catch them.
