🚩 The 'Past' Action Pattern
In this text, we see words that tell us things already happened. To reach A2, you must recognize these 'Past' words.
1. The Regular Pattern (add -ed) Many words just need -ed at the end to move to the past:
- Stay Stayed*
- Race Raced*
2. The Rule-Breakers (Change completely) Some words are 'special' and change their shape. You must memorize these:
- Come Came*
- Do Did*
- Is/Am Was*
💡 Quick Guide: Saying 'No' in the Past
To say something did NOT happen, use this simple formula:
Did not + Base Word (No -ed)
Example from text:
- "They did not want..."
- (We don't say: They did not wanted )
Another example:
- "Two horses did not race..."
- (We don't say: Two horses did not raced )
