💸 The 'Action' Pattern

Look at how we describe things happening in the story. We use simple words to show a clear path: Person \rightarrow Action \rightarrow Thing.

  • Criminals \rightarrow stole \rightarrow money.
  • Police \rightarrow found \rightarrow money.
  • Judge \rightarrow said \rightarrow stay in prison.

Quick Tip: The 'Past' Trick To tell a story about yesterday or last year, many words just add -ed at the end:

  • Use \rightarrow Used
  • Stop \rightarrow Stopped

But some words change completely (we call these 'wild' words):

  • Say \rightarrow Said
  • Find \rightarrow Found
  • Run \rightarrow Ran
