💡 The "Want" Pattern

In this text, we see a simple way to describe goals: Subject + want + (thing/person).

  • The Nationals →\rightarrow want →\rightarrow new players.
  • The Giants →\rightarrow want →\rightarrow to start again.

Quick Rule: Use "want" for a thing →\rightarrow I want a coffee. Use "want to" for an action →\rightarrow I want to sleep.

📉 Good vs. Bad (Adverbs)

Notice how we describe how the teams play:

  1. Well (Positive) →\rightarrow Playing well.
  2. Badly (Negative) →\rightarrow Playing badly.

Note: We don't say "playing good" or "playing bad" when describing the action.
