Main Body

Jamie Varley and John McGowan-Fazakerley took a baby named Preston in April 2023. For four months, they hurt the baby many times. The baby had forty injuries. In July 2023, the baby died at a hospital.

Varley said the baby drowned in water. The doctors said this was a lie. The baby did not have water in his body. The baby died because he could not breathe.

The judge sent Varley to prison for his whole life. He can never leave. McGowan-Fazakerley must stay in prison for twenty-five years. They looked like good people on the internet, but they were bad at home.

Now, the government is checking the adoption agency and the hospital. They want to know why the doctors did not save the baby before he died.
