In the text, we see words that tell us something already happened. To reach A2, you need to know how to change a word to show the past.

The Pattern: Add -ed

  • start \rightarrow started
  • report \rightarrow reported
  • fix \rightarrow fixed

The Trick: Irregular Words Some words don't follow the rule. They change completely:

  • have \rightarrow had
  • say \rightarrow said

Quick Example from the Story: "Many phones did not work."

When we use did not, the action word (work) stays in its normal form. We don't say "did not worked".
