🕒 Talking about the Past
To move to A2, you need to describe things that already happened. This story uses Past Simple verbs. Notice how the words change to show the time is finished.
The Pattern: Regular Verbs (+ed) Most verbs just need an 'ed' at the end to move to the past:
- Happen Happened
- Save Saved*
- Close Closed*
- Arrest Arrested
The Pattern: Special Verbs (Irregular) Some verbs are 'rebels.' They change completely. You must memorize these:
- Go Went
- Put Put (stays the same!)
- Take Took
- Do Did
💡 Pro Tip: When you see "The event happened on Thursday," the word 'happened' tells your brain immediately: This is a memory, not a current fact.
