The government spent a lot of money on these buildings. They bought sites in Georgia, New Jersey, Utah, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. But the local people did not want them.

In Georgia and Utah, people worried about water. They said the towns did not have enough water for 10,000 people. In New Jersey, the leaders said the buildings were not good for people to live in.

Because of these problems, the local cities went to court. They sued the government. Now, the government is selling the buildings because the cities won.

Conclusion

📦 The 'People' Pattern

In this text, we see how to talk about groups of people. To move from A1 to A2, you need to know how to describe who is doing the action.

Look at these examples:

  • The government \rightarrow (The boss/power)
  • The local people \rightarrow (The neighbors)
  • The leaders \rightarrow (The people in charge)
  • The cities \rightarrow (The local government)

💡 Simple Logic: 'Because' \rightarrow 'Result'

English speakers use Because to explain a reason.

Pattern: Because of [Problem] \rightarrow [Action]

Example from text: Because of these problems \rightarrow the cities went to court.

Try this simple change:

  • Because of the rain \rightarrow I stayed home.
  • Because of the noise \rightarrow I cannot sleep.
