💡 THE "PAST" TRICK

In this story, everything already happened. To tell a story about yesterday, we often add -ed to the action word.

See how it changes:

  • Play \rightarrow Played
  • Focus \rightarrow Focused
  • Walk \rightarrow Walked

⚠️ THE RULE BREAKERS

Some words are 'rebels' and change completely. You must memorize these:

Normal (Now)Past (Then)Example from Text
WinWonMexico won 1-0
Is/AreWas/WereThe game was slow
TakeTookRomo took the ball
MakeMadeThe keeper made a mistake

🚫 SAYING "NO" IN THE PAST

To say something did NOT happen, use this simple formula: DID NOT + [Action Word in Normal Form]
