Computers and the Human Brain

電腦與人類大腦

Introduction

Scientists now make tools that connect the brain to computers. These tools are now in hospitals in China.

科學家目前正在開發能將大腦連接至電腦的工具。這些工具現在已在中國的醫院中使用。

Main Body

China has a new tool called NEO. It is safer than other tools because it does not go deep into the brain. China wants to be the best in this business by 2030.

⚡ The 'Comparing' Trick

In this text, we see a very useful way to say one thing is 'more' than another. This is a key skill for A2 English.

The Pattern: Safer \rightarrow (Safe + er)

How it works: When we have a short word, we add -er to the end to compare two things.

  • Safe \rightarrow Safer
  • Fast \rightarrow Faster
  • Small \rightarrow Smaller

Example from text: "It is safer than other tools."

Quick Rule: Always use the word than after the comparison word to connect the two things you are talking about.

Simple Practice List:

  • This phone is cheaper than that one.
  • The brain is smaller than a computer.
  • Today is colder than yesterday.
