💡 The 'Action' Pattern

Look at how the text describes what people did. In A2 English, we often use simple actions (verbs) to tell a story about the past.

The Pattern: Person/Group \rightarrow Action Word (Past) \rightarrow Thing/Place

Examples from the text:

  • They \rightarrow gave \rightarrow awards
  • Judges \rightarrow looked at \rightarrow stories
  • CNA \rightarrow won \rightarrow two awards
  • They \rightarrow wrote \rightarrow photos

Why this helps you: Instead of worrying about complex grammar, just find the Who and the Action.

Quick Tip: Notice how "gave", "looked", "won", and "wrote" all happen in the past. They describe things that are already finished. This is the most important way to talk about events or news.
