💡 The "Action Word" Switch

In this story, we see words that tell us things happened in the past. To reach A2, you need to know how to change a basic action into a 'finished' action.

The Pattern:

  • Give → Gave
  • Name → Named
  • Take → Took
  • Go → Went
  • Pass → Passed
  • Get → Got
  • Study → Studied
  • Do → Did
  • Say → Said
  • Finish → Finished
  • Answer → Answered

Quick Tip: Most words just need a -ed at the end (like finishfinished). But some are "rebels" and change completely (like gowent).

Example from text: "Noor Singla got the first rank" → (He doesn't have it now; he received it in the past).

A2 Rule: Past Action \rightarrow Use the second form of the verb.
