💡 The 'Who did What' Pattern

In A2 English, we move from simple words to clear actions. Look at how these people act in the story:

  • President Nawrocki \rightarrow took away (a medal)
  • President Zelenskyy \rightarrow gave back (the medal)
  • Russia \rightarrow wins (when friends fight)

Why this matters: Notice the word 'back'. We use it to show a return to the original state.

  • Give \rightarrow Give back
  • Take \rightarrow Take back

Common Words for People in Power:

  • Leader (The boss of a group)
  • President (The top leader of a country)
  • Prime Minister (Another top leader)

Quick Tip on History: When the text says "the past," it means things that happened a long time ago (like World War II).
