Introduction
More people are going back to their home countries. For the first time in ten years, the number of displaced people is going down.

The UN says 117.8 million people still cannot live in their homes. In 2025, 15 million people went home. Most of these people returned to five countries: Afghanistan, Syria, Sudan, South Sudan, and Ukraine.
