⏳ Talking about the Past vs. Future
In this text, we see two different ways to talk about time. This is a key step for A2 students.
1. Things that already happened (The Past) We add -ed to the action word to show it is finished.
- Play → Played
- Beat (Special word) → Beat
- Get → Got
2. Things that will happen (The Future) We use the word will before the action word.
- Will play (August 1)
- Will use (The ball)
💡 Simple Tip: The 'Not' Rule When something didn't happen in the past, we use did not + the basic word.
- Correct: Paul Curtis did not play.
- Wrong: Paul Curtis did not played.
