Police are currently investigating the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, who was kidnapped from her home in Tucson, Arizona, on January 31.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI have remained very quiet and refused to confirm the details of the notes, although they emphasized that the investigation is still active. On the other hand, former FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer suggested that the language in the second note shows an unusual amount of empathy from the criminals. Furthermore, Coffindaffer proposed using a blockchain security firm called CertiK to create a financial "trap" with Bitcoin deposits to track the kidnappers' digital movements.

They have offered a total reward of over $1.2 million for any information that leads to Nancy's recovery or the arrest of the suspects. Despite large search efforts, including help from the volunteer group Buscando Corazones Nogales near the Mexico border, no remains have been found.
