A series of shark sightings and a serious attack in Sydney have led the New South Wales government to review maritime safety rules and introduce advanced surveillance technology.

After being kept in a medically induced coma, the patient briefly woke up, which her family described as a positive step in her recovery. To help with her medical costs, a public fundraising campaign has already raised approximately AU$488,000.

Consequently, there is an ongoing debate about how to control the shark population.

However, he mentioned that culling bull sharks might still be considered. Instead of lethal methods, the state plans to use a large network of surveillance drones, which the Premier asserts will be the largest system of its kind in the world. Furthermore, the government has received a temporary permit for aerial monitoring at Coogee Beach, and shark nets are expected to be put back in place by September.
