Trevor Nelson, a well-known BBC Radio 2 presenter, has announced that he is taking a temporary break from work to undergo medical tests.

Mr. Nelson decided to stop broadcasting after a routine medical check-up, where doctors advised him to have further diagnostic tests. In a post on Instagram, the 62-year-old presenter emphasized that people should rely on facts rather than rumors about his health. He stated that his main priority is to recover fully so that he can return to his professional duties soon.

For thirty years, Mr. Nelson has worked at the BBC and has been a leading supporter of R&B, soul, and hip-hop in the UK. His career has been recognized with several honors, including an MBE in 2002 for his volunteer work, as well as recent awards from the Arias and the Television and Radio Industries Club.

Although he is currently away, pre-recorded programs, such as 'The Music is Black' concert, will still be broadcast on Radio 2.
