Police departments in Amritsar and Faridabad have reported two separate incidents involving the illegal movement and loss of firearms.

In Amritsar, the police have shut down an international arms trafficking network. During the operation, officers arrested four men—Ravi Singh, Sharanbir Singh, Manpreet Singh, and Pippal Singh—and seized ten advanced pistols made in Austria and China. Authorities believe that because the suspects lived near the international border, it was easier for them to smuggle these weapons. DGP Gaurav Yadav emphasized that the network was managed by a person abroad to supply local criminals. Furthermore, the suspects already had criminal records for attempting murder and breaking the Arms Act.

Meanwhile, a serious security failure happened at the Sector 8 police station in Faridabad. During a regular check of the weapon storage room, officials discovered that thirty-two licensed firearms were missing. Some of these weapons were from abroad and are valued between 200,000 and 1,000,000 INR. Consequently, Assistant Sub-Inspector Bijendra Singh has been suspended, and a formal investigation has begun. Police suspect that the missing guns were sold in Rajasthan and the Delhi-NCR area, which creates a risk that they may be used for future crimes.
