Law enforcement agencies in Victoria are currently investigating two different fire incidents that occurred in the south-east and northern parts of the state.

The first incident happened in Mentone, where a business on Lower Dandenong Road was destroyed by fire at around 4:10 am. Emergency responders faced difficulties because of broken gas pipes and damaged electrical systems. Police believe the fire may have started after someone intentionally drove a vehicle into the building. Consequently, the area has been declared a crime scene, and eastbound traffic has been stopped to allow for forensic analysis. While nearby shops were also damaged, no injuries were reported.

At the same time, the arson and explosives squad has started a separate investigation into a death in Tallygaroopna. At approximately 10:30 am, a bus used as a home was seen burning along the Goulburn Valley Highway. When four Country Fire Authority units arrived, they found the body of an unidentified man inside. Although the cause of the fire is not yet known, specialized forensic teams are examining the site to determine how the fire started and why the man died.

Both cases are still under active police investigation, and authorities are asking for digital evidence and witness statements through Crime Stoppers.
