Poland and Sweden have completed a multi-billion euro defense deal for the purchase of three A26-class submarines.

The purchase process ended with a contract between Poland's government and the Swedish defense company Saab. The deal is valued between €4.2 billion and 50 billion Swedish kronor. This decision follows a competition between several European countries and South Korea. The A26 Blekinge-class submarines use diesel-electric power and have special stealth features, which make them ideal for gathering intelligence and surveillance in the Baltic Sea.

Furthermore, the agreement includes a full package of weapons and the start of crew training in August.
