Authorities in Monaco and France are working together to catch a suspect after a targeted explosion at a residential building in central Monaco.

The incident happened around 9:00 PM on Monday, when a homemade bomb containing metal bolts and pellets exploded at the entrance of a residential complex. Security cameras show a single man leaving a backpack at the scene before running across the border into Beausoleil, France, possibly heading toward Italy. The blast injured three people: Vadym Yermolaiev, a Cypriot citizen of Ukrainian origin, his thirteen-year-old son, and a female partner. While Yermolaiev's condition is now stable, his partner is in critical condition with severe injuries to her lower body.

However, Yermolaiev has denied these claims, asserting that he could not recover his investments and that his companies were forced to register under Russian law.

Monaco authorities have emphasized that this was an attempted murder and have explicitly ruled out terrorism.
