Introduction

Manipur is facing a return of violence, including the burning of buildings, hostage situations, and road blockades involving the Naga and Kuki-Zo communities.

Main Body

A major cause for the current escalation was a series of attacks on May 13, which resulted in four deaths and the kidnapping of 48 people.
