India has sent medical teams and rescue workers to Venezuela as part of 'Operation Amistad' to help the country recover from two powerful earthquakes.

As part of Operation Amistad, the Indian Army has set up a field hospital to provide urgent medical care and humanitarian support. These teams are working to rescue survivors from destroyed buildings, including the successful rescue of a 79-year-old woman. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar emphasized that the deployment of these professionals shows great dedication during a global crisis.

Meanwhile, the situation inside Venezuela remains very serious. According to Jorge Ramirez, President of the National Assembly, at least 1,943 people have died, although this number is expected to increase. However, there are differences in the data, as the US Geological Survey suggests that the death toll could actually be in the tens of thousands. Consequently, the United Nations and the Venezuelan government have purchased 10,000 body bags. Furthermore, rescue efforts are facing difficult challenges, such as a lack of fuel for heavy machinery in areas like La Guaira.
