For example, bunting is prohibited, and traditional walks are replaced by a rule where the batter must sprint while fielders try to get the ball. While the game uses an inning-based point system, all runs in the ninth inning are added to the final score. The players are former college, minor-league, and independent-league athletes who were chosen because they fit the organization's goal of putting fans first.

Meanwhile, the Loco Beach Coconuts and Indianapolis Clowns began their series in Jacksonville, and the Texas Tailgaters faced the Party Animals in Midland, although their game was delayed by two hours due to the weather.
