Introduction

A series of violent crimes and road accidents have caused several deaths across multiple Indian states. As a result, various police departments have started criminal investigations to find those responsible.

Main Body

Many of the deaths were caused by serious negligence and a failure to follow traffic laws. In Gurugram, three separate accidents occurred: a truck collision in Sector 86 that killed two people; a crash on the Sohna elevated road involving a Mercedes-Benz and a scooter that was allegedly driving in the wrong direction; and a robbery where the victim died from head injuries after suspects deliberately crashed into them. Similarly, on the Jalandhar-Amritsar highway, a Toyota Innova driving against traffic caused a crash that killed three family members. Additionally, a pedestrian was killed by a private bus in Civil Lines.

Interpersonal and domestic violence also led to several fatal incidents. In Delhi, Arastu Sikka was arrested after his wife, Akriti Sutar, fell from a building; her family claimed she suffered from financial pressure and dowry harassment. In Uttar Pradesh, Hemal Khakharia was caught by police after he allegedly killed and dismembered his partner, Reshma Khan, following an argument. In Jharkhand, Chetan Munda was arrested for killing an 18-year-old woman. Furthermore, in Manesar, a man and his partner were arrested near Rishikesh for allegedly murdering the man's wife; the suspect had reportedly changed his physical appearance to avoid being caught. In Muzaffarpur, police are searching for a husband who allegedly killed his wife.

Other serious events include a targeted attack in Lohara village, where Inderjit Singh Channi was killed by six people using sharp weapons due to an old rivalry. Moreover, a 36-year-old man died from a medical emergency while in police custody in Shahjahanpur during questioning about sexual assault allegations.

Look at this sentence from the text:

If you say "The scooter was driving in the wrong direction," you are 100% sure. If you add allegedly, you are saying: "People say this happened, but we don't have the proof yet."

How to use it: Place it before the main verb to shift the meaning from a 'fact' to a 'claim'.

  • A2: He stole the money. →\rightarrow (Too direct/risky)
  • B2: He allegedly stole the money. →\rightarrow (Professional/Cautious)

🛠️ Expanding Your 'Cause and Effect' Toolset

Stop using "because" for everything. The B2 transition requires variety in how you connect events. Notice how the article describes deaths:

  1. "Caused by..." →\rightarrow Many deaths were caused by serious negligence.
  2. "Led to..." →\rightarrow Domestic violence also led to several fatal incidents.
  3. "Due to..." →\rightarrow ...killed by six people... due to an old rivalry.

Quick Guide for your writing:

  • Use "Led to" when one event creates a chain of results (A →\rightarrow B).
  • Use "Due to" as a replacement for "because of" when followed by a noun phrase.
