At the A2 level, we usually write short, simple sentences: "The university changed brands. They want to improve their strategy."
To reach B2, you must stop writing lists of facts and start showing relationships between those facts. This is done using Connectors (Transitions). Look at how the article bridges ideas:
1. The 'Result' Bridge: Consequently
"Consequently, more colors... are expected to be released soon."
The Shift: Instead of saying "So," B2 speakers use Consequently. It signals a professional cause-and-effect relationship.
- A2: The rain started, so we went home.
- B2: The rain started; consequently, we returned home.
2. The 'Adding' Bridge: Furthermore
"Furthermore, the Summitt Blue alternate sets... now feature a five-stripe design."
The Shift: Instead of saying "And" or "Also" at the start of a sentence, use Furthermore. This tells the reader: "I have already given you one piece of information, and now I am adding a second, more important point."
3. The 'Contrast' Bridge: While
"While the look of the football... uniforms remains traditional, the women's basketball program has received a complete visual update."
The Shift: This is a high-level move. While allows you to put two opposite ideas in one single sentence. This is the hallmark of B2 fluency—balancing a contrast without starting a new sentence with "But."
💡 Pro Tip for the Bridge: Next time you write, find two sentences that are related. Delete the period between them and try to insert While, Furthermore, or Consequently. You are no longer just speaking English; you are structuring it.
